Mark Melamed has a strong background in global nuclear policy and international relations. Mark has held several prominent positions in various organizations. From 2019 to the present, Mark has worked at the Nuclear Threat Initiative, where they started as the Senior Director in the Global Nuclear Policy Program and is currently serving as the Deputy Vice President. Prior to that, they worked at the U.S. Department of State from 2010 to 2018, holding roles such as Deputy Director in the Office of Multilateral Nuclear Affairs and NATO Summit Coordinator. Before joining the Department of State, Mark worked at the National Security Council, The White House from 2012 to 2014 as the Director for Arms Control. Mark also has experience in the U.S. Department of Energy, where they worked as an International Relations Specialist from 2007 to 2010. In this role, they focused on policy development and analysis in the African and Middle Eastern regions. Overall, Mark Melamed has extensive expertise in nuclear policy, arms control, and international affairs.
Mark Melamed completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of Arizona from 1999 to 2003. Mark further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Public Affairs in International Relations from Princeton University, completing it from 2005 to 2007.
