April Barber

April Barber is an experienced educator currently serving as a Second Grade Teacher at The Oaks Academy since August 2024. Prior to this role, April worked as an Instructional Assistant at The Oaks Academy from January 2023 to May 2024 and as a Teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools from January 2022 to October 2022. April's professional background includes a position as a Family and Community Engagement Liaison at IPS/Butler Lab School from August 2018 to December 2021 and as a Health and Wellness Educator for The Juice Plus+ Company from May 2015 to August 2018. April holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Covenant Theological Seminary and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Education and Leadership at Indiana University Indianapolis. A Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences was obtained from Berry College.
