Verna M. Spears

Verna M. Spears has extensive experience in finance and taxation, currently serving as a Tax Audit Agent and Tax Commissioner's Agent 1 at The Ohio Department of Taxation since February 2015. Prior to this role, Verna worked as a Staff Accountant for the Franklin County Treasurer, responsible for managing annual revenue, and held various positions at JPMorgan Chase, including Business Analyst and Accounting Operations Specialist, where skills in reconciliation and cross-training were developed. Verna also led teams at The Huntington National Bank in both the OREO Accounting Department and the Paid Real Estate Department, honing leadership and accounting abilities. Verna holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Accounting from Franklin University, obtained between 2004 and 2008.
