Young Woong Kim

Young Woong Kim is an experienced music educator currently serving as a Secondary Music Teacher at The Overseas School of Colombo since August 2022, specializing in IB MYP/DP Music. Prior to this role, Young Woong Kim taught MYP Music at Concordian International School from August 2019 to July 2022, focusing on general music studies and introductory vocal and musical theatre for grades 6 to 9. At Wuxi Taihu International School, from August 2017 to July 2019, Young Woong Kim taught music across multiple grade levels and directed annual school concerts while also contributing to the CIS/WASC reaccreditation team. Young Woong Kim served as a Staff Sergeant in the Republic of Korea Air Force from February 2015 to February 2017 and worked as a Supplemental Learning Leader at Valencia College, providing tutoring in mathematics and music theory from September 2008 to May 2009. Young Woong Kim holds a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s in Music Education (Choral) from Rutgers University, complemented by studies at Valencia College.
