Katie Watson has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Katie began their career as an Editorial Intern at House Beautiful Magazine in 2007. Katie then worked briefly as a Communications Assistant at The Homeless Agency before joining the National Rehabilitation Hospital as an Assistant to the Program Managers in 2008. From 2009 to 2013, Katie served as an Outreach Coordinator at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. Katie then transitioned to Red Basket, Inc., where they held roles as an Account Manager and later as a Project Specialist from 2013 to 2015. In 2017, Katie joined Volunteer Alexandria as a Development Associate. During the same year, they also started working at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, initially as a Development Support Specialist and later progressing to the role of Manager of Donor Relations from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, Katie became a Major Gifts Officer at the Army Historical Foundation until 2022 when they moved to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors as the Deputy Director of Development. Currently, they hold the position of Program Manager, Military Heroes Program at The PenFed Foundation, starting in October 2022.
Katie Watson began their education journey at Sarah Lawrence College from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Writing and History. Following their undergraduate studies, Katie attended Trinity College Dublin from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Comparative Literature.
