Thomas Becher

Thomas Becher is the current Director at The Public Relations Society of America-National Capital Chapter. Prior to their current position, they were the Director of PR & Marketing Services at ECU Communications from March 2020 to January 2022. Before that, they were the Principal at Maple Leaf Strategic Communications, LLC from January 2019 to July 2022. Thomas has also served as the Senior Vice President at ndp from September 2012 to January 2019, where they were responsible for leading the strategic communications practice of 60-person integrated marketing communications agency with national client base. Creating, implementing and measuring public relations, media relations, internal communications, crisis management, advertising, social media, digital, strategic planning, and event management communication strategies and tactics to achieve business goals in numerous industries, including aviation, technology, defense, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, hospitality and retail. Thomas was also a member of senior leadership team responsible for P&L results. Thomas has won dozens of awards for public relations excellence. Prior to their time at ndp, they served as the President and Owner of tba | PR + Advertising from May 2005 to September 2012.

Thomas Becher earned their undergraduate and master's degrees in journalism from Northwestern University. Thomas also has a certification from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in APR.
