Cindy Kamikawa

Cindy Kamikawa is the President of Queen’s North Hawai‘i Community Hospital (NHCH), an affiliate of The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS). Ms. Kamikawa began her career with QHS as a staff nurse in 1981, relocating to Honolulu from California. After entering management as a front-line supervisor, she continued to increase her areas of responsibility and became the Chief Nurse in 2005.

During her tenure, Ms. Kamikawa led The Queen’s Medical Center to become the first and only hospital in Hawaii to achieve Magnet® Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the highest institutional honor recognizing excellence in nursing.

Ms. Kamikawa received her Bachelor of Science (nursing) from the University of San Francisco and Master of Science (nursing) from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She has co-authored several nursing publications with a research interest in Emotional Intelligence.

Ms. Kamikawa is on the board of directors for the Girl Scouts of Hawaii. She currently resides on the Big Island and enjoys the beach, reading, hiking, and spending time with family, including her three grandchildren.
