Teresa Hnin is a dedicated researcher and educator currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Valm Lab of The Research Foundation for SUNY since June 2021, focusing on the human oral microbiome and employing advanced imaging technologies. As a Bioinformatics Research Intern, Teresa contributed to projects involving differential gene expression and the genomic analysis of isolated Bacillaceae strains, utilizing programming and data management skills on High-Performance Computer Clusters. Additionally, experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University at Albany involved instructing students in essential biology techniques. Teresa's educational background includes pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology with a focus on Molecular, Cellular, Developmental, and Neural Biology, following a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
