Sigmund Ting has a diverse range of work experience. Sigmund started their career as a CPD Intern at HUD in 2006 and later worked as a Land Use Intern at the Association of Bay Area Governments. From 2007 to 2011, they served as a Project Manager at the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, where they focused on the needs of low and moderate-income individuals and promoted community action. After that, they worked as a Consultant at UC Berkeley Workstation and Microcomputing Facilities. In 2013, they joined Yuco Real Estate Company, Inc. as a Project Manager, and in 2016, they became an Assistant Vice President LIHTC Acquisitions at The Richman Group.
Sigmund Ting completed their education at three different institutions. Sigmund first attended Whitney HS from 1999 to 2003, during which no degree or field of study was specified. Sigmund then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies at the University of California, Berkeley from 2003 to 2007. Finally, they went on to receive a Master's degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University from 2012 to 2013.
