Thomas Rice

Thomas Rice is Vice President and a member of the Legal & Compliance team, serving as Counsel.

Prior to joining TRG in October of 2022, Mr. Rice was Senior Legal Counsel at DWS (Deutsche Bank’s asset management division) for over eleven years advising the Alternatives and Institutional businesses. At DWS, Mr. Rice represented and counseled various business units in structuring domestic and offshore private investment funds (including infrastructure debt, infrastructure, private equity, real estate and real estate debt strategies), collateralized loan obligation vehicles, separately managed accounts and debt offerings. In addition, he advised business units on regulatory, compliance and operational matters.

Prior to DWS Mr. Rice was an associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he represented and counseled clients in all phases of structuring domestic and offshore hedge and private funds with a broad range of investment and trading strategies. In addition, he advised clients on regulatory, compliance and operational matters.

Mr. Rice earned his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, magna cum laude, has a Masters of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.), with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center, and his Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from James Madison University.
