Estelle van der Merwe

Estelle van der Merwe serves as the Group HR Manager at The Royal Portfolio since May 2013, overseeing the full HR functions for three hotels and three lodges, managing candidate recruitment, disciplinary actions, salary administration, promotions, and the implementation of policies. Prior to this role, Estelle was the HR Manager at Birkenhead House from August 2005 to April 2013, where the position included a promotion to Group HR Manager. Estelle holds several degrees, including a BCom Honours in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of South Africa and various certificates in coaching, human resources management, and practical labour law, complemented by a Cape Wine Master Diploma and a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
