Appolinaire Djikeng serves as the Managing Director at CGIAR since July 2023 and holds multiple prestigious academic positions, including Professor at The Roslin Institute, The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh and Professor Extraordinarius at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Djikeng contributes to various organizations as a Board Member for the Science for Africa Foundation, Trustee Director (Chair) at The Sainsbury Laboratory, and a member of the Independent Scientific Advisory Board for the Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance. Additional roles include Honorary Professor at The University of Queensland and Director General and CGIAR Senior Director for Livestock-based Systems at the International Livestock Research Institute. Djikeng earned a PhD from Brunel University of London and holds both a BSc and MSc in Biology from the University of Yaounde I.
