Julian Austin has a strong background in cybersecurity and information security. Julian has experience working as a Cybersecurity Assurance Manager at both Cayden Security and The SCE Group, where they managed Cylance MSSP and performed cybersecurity maturity assessments. Julian also conducted enterprise security assessments, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, configuration reviews, wireless assessment, and mobile device testing.

Julian also has experience as a Professional Services Consultant at The SCE Group, where they were part of the professional services team and had expertise in operating various security tools such as Cylance, Zscaler, Authentica8 Silo, Cybereason, Sumologic, Tanium, and Symantec Endpoint Protection. Julian was knowledgeable in malware analysis as well.

Before transitioning into cybersecurity, Julian worked as a Basketball Referee for the NCAA from September 2010 to January 2020.

In these roles, they were involved in planning, installation, and operation of various security applications such as Symantec Security Information Manager, HP Arcsight, IBM QRadar, McAfee Foundstone, Qualys, Symantec Control Compliance Suite, Symantec Data Loss Prevention, and Tripwire File Integrity Monitoring. Julian also performed troubleshooting and maintenance duties related to these applications.

Julian Austin, MS, CISSP has a diverse education history. Julian obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University from 1992 to 1997. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Biology from Rutgers University - Camden between 2001 and 2003.

In terms of professional certifications, Julian holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)², which they obtained in June 2020.
