Jay Sukow (he/him/his)

Jay Sukow has a diverse work experience in the field of improvisation and teaching. Jay is currently working as a Learning Facilitator at Fairplay Communications, where they help individuals and teams learn how to adapt to change. In addition, Jay owns and is the Creative Director of Today Improv since 2015. Jay has also worked as a Facilitator at Second City Works, an Instructor at M.i.'s Westside Comedy Theater, and an Emcee at Windy City Fieldhouse, where they managed team building events. Jay has been a teacher, director, and coach at Jay Austin Sukow, Inc. since 1993, and before that, they began their improvisational career as an Improvisor and later became an Improv teacher at The Second City. Jay also served as the Artistic Director at Improv Comedy Copenhagen Theatre, where they oversaw a Danish comedy theatre training center and taught hundreds of students. Additionally, they were a Managing Partner at Group Mind Films, where they wrote, directed, produced, and acted in feature films with improvised dialogue.

Jay Sukow attended Illinois State University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Economics. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, they studied at Illiana Christian. After their undergraduate studies, Jay Sukow pursued improvisation training at The Second City and iO Chicago (formerly Improv Olympix and Improv Olympic) from 1992 to 1994.
