Vice Principal (further Education) at The Sheffield College

Shaun Cook has extensive work experience in education and leadership roles. Shaun currently holds the position of Vice Principal - Curriculum at Barnsley College. Prior to that, they worked at The Sheffield College as Vice Principal (Further Education), Vice Principal - Vocational and Technical Skills (16-18), and Assistant Principal. Before joining The Sheffield College, they were the Head of Department at Wakefield College, where they managed the department and developed vocational training programs. Shaun also served as the Curriculum Leader at Bishop Burton College, where they coordinated the delivery of Applied Science, Sport & Public Services courses. Additionally, Shaun has professional experience outside of the education sector. Shaun worked as an Executive Officer at Civil Service (DEFRA) and served in HM Forces, where they were responsible for maintaining discipline and morale within their unit.

Shaun Cook has a Master's Degree in Education from The Open University, which they completed from 2015 to 2017. Shaun also has a Certificate in Education from Bishop Burton College. In addition, Shaun has a Post Graduate Diploma in professional Studies in Educational Research from The Open University, which they completed from 2015 to 2016. Shaun holds a Graduateship in Leadership & Management from City & Guilds, as well as an Award in Leadership & Management from ILM. Shaun also obtained a QTLS from the Institute for Learning in 2010. Furthermore, they have a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Studies in Education from The Open University, with a focus on Management & Organization of Education and academic studies in specialist education, which they completed from 2016 to 2017.

In terms of additional certifications, Shaun Cook has obtained a certification in Strategic Innovation for Skills from The Education and Training Foundation in 2023. Shaun has also completed certifications in Coaching Football from The Football Association, Coaching Rugby Union from the Rugby Football Union, Managing Safely from IOSH, and Prince 2 Practitioner from APM Group.
