Ron Choi

Ron Choi has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ron is currently working at The Six Semiconductor as a Senior Applications Engineering Manager. Prior to that, they were employed at Cadence Design Systems as a Senior Principal Product Engineer, where they specialized in the Palladium and Protium product lines and supported pre-and post-sales engagements.

Before their time at Cadence Design Systems, Ron worked at Stereo D as a Senior Software Architect. In this role, they led a software service department and was responsible for improving product quality and client support. Ron also played a key role in streamlining support tasks and enabling disaster recovery.

Ron's experience at Synopsys includes working as a Senior Staff Corporate Applications Engineer, where they excelled in the microelectronics emulation space. Ron drove successful customer adoption and supported increased sales efforts for a top CPU/GPU customer.

Prior to Synopsys, Ron worked as a Director/Principal Consultant at Rho1 Consulting, where they provided technical marketing consulting services to clients in various industries. Ron also had a role as a Product Marketing Director at Emulation and Verification Engineering, where they developed product roadmaps and supported business development.

Ron's career began at Cypress Semiconductor, where they worked as a Senior Design Engineer and led projects in the design, verification, and layout of CPLDs. Ron also gained experience as a Design Engineering Co-op at Cypress Semiconductor before joining the workforce.

Ron's educational background includes working as a Tutor at the University of Waterloo while pursuing their degree in Engineering.

Ron Choi completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, with an option in Computer Engineering, from the University of Waterloo between 1994 and 1999. Later, between 2011 and 2015, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in English, specializing in Technical Communication, at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Furthermore, Ron Choi obtained a certification as a Team4Tech Fellow from Team4Tech in December 2020.
