Felipe Lobelo, MD, PhD has a strong background in public health and research. Felipe has held various roles at prestigious institutions such as The Southeast Permanente Medical Group, where they currently serve as the Physician Program Director for Epidemiology, Public Health, and Preparedness. Prior to this, they were a Senior Physician Consultant for Population Health Research at the same organization. Dr. Lobelo was also an Associate Professor at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory. Their earlier experience includes positions at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they served as a Medical Epidemiologist and Lead Epidemiologist, among other roles. Additionally, they have worked as a Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina and as a Research Associate at Universidad del Rosario.
Felipe Lobelo, MD, PhD completed their Medical Doctor degree in General Practice at Universidad del Rosario from 1996 to 2002. Felipe then pursued a Specialist degree in Epidemiology at the same institution from 2002 to 2004. Dr. Lobelo furthered their education by earning a PhD in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina from 2004 to 2008. Felipe later completed an EIS postdoctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2008 to 2010.
