Nkem Chukwumerije

Nkem Chukwumerije is the current Executive Medical Director and President at The Southeast Permanente Medical Group. Nkem has been with The Southeast Permanente Medical Group since January 2021 and in their current role since July 2021. Prior to their current role, Nkem served as the Regional Physician Director, Resource Management at Kaiser Permanente from October 2015 to January 2021. Nkem also served as the Assistant Area Medical Director at Kaiser Permanente from September 2015 to January 2021. Nkem has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2010, serving as the Physician Director, Inpatient Quality Management from January 2010 to January 2021. Prior to their role as Physician Director, Nkem served as the Physician in Charge of the Hospital Medicine Division at Kaiser Permanente from July 2006 to October 2015. Nkem has been a hospitalist with Kaiser Permanente since July 2002 and a physician since 2001, when they completed their residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Nkem Chukwumerije holds an Executive Leadership Program from Harvard Business School in Business Administration and Healthcare Management. Nkem also has an Advanced Management Program from the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business in Business Administration and Healthcare Management. Nkem Chukwumerije has a MPH from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in Executive Masters in Health Care Policy and Management. Finally, Nkem Chukwumerije has a MBBS from the University of Nigeria in Medicine and Surgery.
