Shankar Mahalingam

Shankar Mahalingam is the current Dean of the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Shankar has previously served as Chair & Professor at the University of California, Riverside from January 2000 to December 2010, and as Associate Professor at the University of Colorado from January 1989 to December 2000.

Shankar Mahalingam pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University. Shankar started their educational career by completing a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Shankar Mahalingam reports to David Puleo, Provost & EVP, Academic Affairs. They work with James Miller - Institute for Science Education Director, Rhonda Gaede - Interim Associate Provost, and Jason Greene - Dean, College of Business.
