Mary Wallace Pitts is an experienced academic and environmental professional with a comprehensive background in geography and hydrogeology. Currently serving as a Senior Instructor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Geography at The University of Alabama since August 2007, Mary has also held roles as an Instructor and Adjunct Faculty. Prior to this, Mary worked as a Northriver Watershed Coordinator for the Clean Water Partnership from April 2011 to December 2017 and as a Hydrogeologist at PELA GeoEnvironmental from June 1991 to June 1999. Mary began their career as a Geologist at the British Geological Survey from June 1989 to June 1991. Educationally, Mary holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Watershed Science from The University of Alabama, a Diploma in Hydrogeology, and a Master of Science in Hydrogeology, both from University College London, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Trinity College Dublin.
