Lorna Wong has extensive experience in communications and media relations. Lorna began their career as a Copy Editor at The Honolulu Advertiser in 1991 and later worked at the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and USA Today in similar roles. In 1995, they joined The Honolulu Advertiser again as a Page Designer and eventually became the Presentation Editor. In 2002, Lorna started working at the Chicago Tribune Media Group as a News Editor and then as the Business Editor. In 2011, they joined UChicago Medicine, where they held various roles, including Assistant Director of Media and Social Media, Executive Director of Strategic Communications, Director of Media Relations, and currently, they serve as the Executive Director of Communications and Content Strategy. Lorna has developed marketing and communication strategies, managed crisis communications, supervised teams, and provided communications counsel to top leadership.
Lorna Wong completed their Bachelor's degree in Journalism (with a minor in psychology) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1992. Prior to that, they attended McKinley High School, but there is no information regarding the duration or field of study at this institution.
