Hyunkook Lee

Professor Of Audio And Psychoacoustic Engineering at The University of Huddersfield

Hyunkook Lee serves as a Professor of Audio and Psychoacoustic Engineering at The University of Huddersfield since September 2010, where Hyunkook also founded and directs the Applied Psychoacoustics Lab, developing the binaural translator plugin VIRTUOSO and conducting research in 3D and VR audio. Previously, Hyunkook held roles as Reader and Senior Lecturer in Music Technology, focusing on teaching and researching various audio technologies. In addition to academic roles, Hyunkook is the Vice Chair of the High Resolution Audio Technical Committee for the Audio Engineering Society and serves as a Governor. Hyunkook also directs the Centre for Audio and Psychoacoustic Engineering, is an Editorial Board Member for Applied Sciences MDPI, and has extensive experience as a Tonmeister and recording engineer. Previous industry experience includes research engineering at LG Electronics and roles in recording at Metropolis Group and Aspen Music Festival. Hyunkook holds a PhD in Psychoacoustics from the University of Surrey.
