Kylie Roots has a diverse range of work experience in marketing, communications, audience insights, and strategic management. Kylie began their career at Queensland Railways Institute Inc, where they held various roles related to member relations, services, and marketing. After that, they worked at the Australian Medical Association (Qld) as the Head of Partnerships and Projects, and later as the Executive Manager of Marketing and Member Relations. Kylie then joined the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation, Queensland Government as the Executive Manager of Strategic Communications. Following that, they worked at the State Library of Queensland as the Manager of Marketing and Communications, and later as the Head of Audience Insights, Development & Analytics. Currently, Kylie is the Head of Marketing Communications and Future Students at The University of Queensland, where they are responsible for leading marketing, communications, outreach, and future student recruitment for the Faculty of Science. Overall, Kylie has demonstrated expertise in driving marketing strategies, managing diverse audiences, and championing the voice of customers and members in various organizations.
Kylie Roots completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Griffith University between the years 1994-1997. In addition, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Business (Masters of Business Administration stream) with a focus on Professional Management from the Australian Institute of Management in 2003-2004.
