Meghan Hoyer

Meghan Hoyer is an experienced data journalism professional currently serving as the Data Journalism Director at The Washington Post since January 2021, where leadership involves vetting and analyzing data for various journalistic projects while providing training and resources across the newsroom. Prior to this role, Meghan worked at the Associated Press as a Data Editor from November 2015 to December 2020, collaborating with teams to analyze and share data for breaking news and investigative reports. Previous positions include Data Journalist at USA TODAY, where Meghan reported on a range of topics, and Data Editor at Pilot Media, overseeing data analysis for city-related stories. Meghan’s career began as a Clark County Government Reporter at The Courier-Journal. Educationally, Meghan holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Old Dominion University.
