Assistant Head Of School at The Woods Academy

Jodie Shoemaker has a diverse work experience in the education sector. From 1997 to 2001, they worked as a Fifth Grade Teacher at Sacred Heart School, where they taught various subjects and incorporated teaching strategies for ESL and Special Education. In 2002, they joined The Woods Academy as a Team Leader, where they scheduled the academic program, coordinated curriculum mapping efforts, and led a team of teachers. From 2010 to 2012, Jodie served as the Director of Admissions at The Woods Academy, where they interacted with prospective families and managed the admissions process. Jodie then took on the role of Director of Marketing, Communications, & Alumni Relations at The Woods Academy from 2012 to 2021, where they developed and implemented marketing and communication plans, and maintained a strategic relationship with enrollment and advancement efforts. Jodie currently serves as the Assistant Head of School at The Woods Academy since July 2021. Additionally, they had a brief role as a Trustee at Evergreen Montessori from 2011 to 2015.

Jodie Shoemaker obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Languages from Georgetown University, where they attended from 1993 to 1997. Jodie then pursued further education and earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Teachers College, Columbia University, completing their studies in 2002.
