Jack Bates has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Jack is currently serving as the Head of People Operations at The Works Stores Ltd, a position they have held since October 2023. Prior to that, they were the People Services Manager at the same company from April 2022 to October 2023.
Before working at The Works Stores Ltd, Jack worked at Holland & Barrett as the Human Resources Shared Services Manager from June 2021 to March 2022.
Jack also gained extensive experience at The Staffing Group, where they held several roles. Jack began as an HR Generalist in July 2014 and gradually worked their way up. Jack later served as an HR Advisor, an HR Advisor/Team Lead, and a Senior Human Resources Advisor. In these roles, they managed teams, provided guidance on HR matters, including employee relations and policy writing, and oversaw sickness absence management.
Earlier in their career, Jack worked as an HR Assistant at Walsall Council from March 2010 to July 2014. In this role, they guided managers on employee relations issues and was primarily responsible for managing sickness absence.
Jack Bates attended Great Wyrley Performing Arts High School from 2002 to 2007, but did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study. In addition, they received certifications from CIPD, including an Associate CIPD Experience Assessment in 2019 and a CHRP in 2012.
