Colette Gregory

Colette Gregory has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Colette is currently the Chief Learning Officer and Co-Founder at the Theatre Advocacy Project where they are responsible for the development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the organization. Colette also serves as the subject matter expert in the fields of DEI, theatre administration, and creating a workplace culture of belonging.

Prior to this, Colette worked at Fairplay Communications as a Learning Designer and Senior Facilitator. In this role, they authored curriculum and conducted improv-based workshops on topics such as Diversity and Inclusion, Communication Styles, and Change Readiness for Fortune 1000 companies.

Colette also gained experience as a Program Designer and Lead Facilitator at Second City Works, where they developed tailored professional development training for clients ranging from Fortune 1000 companies to not-for-profit organizations.

Colette has academic experience as well, working as an Adjunct Professor at DePaul University. In this role, they designed and managed syllabus materials, facilitated class instruction, and evaluated student performance.

Additionally, they served as the Executive Director at Playmakers Laboratory Theatre, leading the organization through the global pandemic and managing development functions to secure institutional revenue.

Colette has also worked as an Educator at Catharsis Productions, where they traveled to universities and military bases across the United States to facilitate dialogues on issues of identity, power, privilege, and sexual violence.

Colette gained research and leadership experience as the Project Director of the Violence Prevention Research Team at DePaul University, overseeing the implementation of a violence prevention intervention for African American youth.

Earlier in their career, Colette served as the Clinical Lead at EDGE Learning and Wellness Collegiate Community, where they supported college students recovering from mental health events in a residential treatment facility.

Colette also worked as the School Linked Services Coordinator at Unity Care, overseeing a prevention and early intervention program for African American students and families.

Lastly, Colette interned as a Counseling Intern at Borough of Manhattan Community College, providing mental health counseling and academic advising to program participants.

Throughout their career, Colette has focused on topics such as diversity and inclusion, communication, change readiness, collaboration, storytelling, and innovation.

Colette Gregory has an extensive education history. Colette first attended Northwestern University from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music Administration. During their time at Northwestern University, they also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion.

Later, between 2012 and 2014, Colette pursued further education at Columbia University. Colette attended Teachers College, Columbia University, where they earned a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Additionally, they also completed a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Columbia University.

Overall, Colette has a diverse educational background, with degrees in music administration, religion, and counseling psychology.
