Starting in 1993, Shay worked at Hanson Aggregates of Arizona, where they began in an administrative role and eventually became a Marketing Manager and Sales Administration Manager. They were responsible for tasks such as proposals, project management, negotiations, training, forecasting, customer service, and key account development.

In 2006, Shay moved on to Owens Corning as an Area Sales Manager. They managed the largest warehouse distribution for the east coast region and consistently exceeded sales quotas. They also led a successful reseller program and architectural presentations.

In 2010, Shay became the owner and broker at Health Reform Team, providing insurance consultation for the self-employed and individual market. They built a successful portfolio of $150K in less than two years.

From 2015, Shay took on the role of a Business Owner at an online jewelry and accessories boutique. They grew the business to exceed $3K in monthly revenue and gained valuable skills in website development, SEO optimization, inventory management, social media, accounting, graphic design, marketing, and sales.

In 2019, Shay held multiple roles simultaneously. They worked as a Business and Marketing Consultant for various companies, providing consulting services. They also became the VP Administration & Marketing at ASR Alert Systems, initially hired to build their social media presence and new website. Shay's role grew to include daily operations, decision-making, developing an international channel partner resale program, implementing a CRM system, and creating marketing materials.

During the same year, Shay also served as the Director of Marketing at Balance Marketing Group, where they focused on SEO strategy implementation and pay-per-click advertising. They successfully improved organic SEO by 200% in six months.

In 2021, Shay became the Director of Operations at NASCPC National Association of School and Campus Police Chiefs. Initially hired as an independent contractor to develop their website and online presence, Shay's responsibilities expanded to play a key role across all operational departments.

Most recently, in 2023, Shay started working as the Director of Marketing at Thermal Imaging Radar, LLC.

Shay D. obtained an Associate's degree in General Studies from Phoenix College between 1992 and 1994. Following that, they attended Arizona State University between 1994 and 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Global Business and Marketing. Shay D. also holds several certifications, including "IS907 Active Shooter: What You Can Do" and "IS904 Active Shooter Prevention" from FEMA, which were obtained in February and January 2022 respectively. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Email Marketing and Growth Driven Design from HubSpot in October 2022.
