Glenn Sproule has extensive work experience in the information security field. Glenn is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at thinkmoney since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Technology Risk & Security at Financial Wellness Group from January 2020 to July 2021.
Before joining Financial Wellness Group, Glenn held the position of Head of Technology Risk at Moneysupermarket Group from July 2017 to January 2020. Glenn also served as the Head Of Information Security at Slater and Gordon Lawyers from December 2016 to July 2017.
Glenn's experience also includes working as the Head of Security Policy, Standards and Governance / Deputy CISO at Future Williams & Glyn Team - RBS from January 2016 to December 2016. Prior to this, they operated their own consulting firm called G Sproule Consulting, where they served as a Director from March 2014 to February 2016.
Glenn has also held significant roles in the public sector, specifically at the Home Office and UK Ministry of Defence. At the Home Office, Glenn worked as the Home Office Technology - Immigration Technology Portfolio Manager and Security Programme Lead from March 2014 to January 2016.
At the UK Ministry of Defence, they held the position of Security Programme Manager - Security Transformation from January 2013 to October 2013. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Cyber Security Instructor at the Defence College of Communications and Information Systems from November 2010 to January 2013.
Glenn's career began at the UK Ministry of Defence, where they worked as a Lead Systems Security Engineer / Manager - Intelligence Systems from June 2008 to November 2010. Throughout their career, Glenn has acquired certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CCSP, and CRISC, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to the field of information security.
Glenn Sproule CISM, CISSP, CCSP, CRISC completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons degree in Physics from the University of Leeds between 1993 and 1996. Glenn then pursued military and strategic leadership education at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in 2003. In 1999, Glenn underwent engineer officer training at the Department of Specialist Ground Training. Prior to that, from 1997 to 1998, they attended the Royal Air Force College Cranwell for initial officer training.
Additionally, Glenn has obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2019, they obtained the Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification from ISACA. In 2017, they acquired the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications from (ISC)². In 2015, Glenn obtained the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) certification from ISACA. Prior to that, they obtained several other certifications including MSP Practitioner, CompTIA Network+ ce, CompTIA Security+ ce, APMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, and ITIL Foundation between 2011 and 2013 from various institutions such as APMG-International, CompTIA, and the Association for Project Management.
