Robert Thorsten

Robert Thorsten has a diverse work experience that spans over several companies. Robert began their career as an Accounting Clerk at the Winnipeg Jets, where they were involved in various accounting functions and merchandise inventory control. Robert then moved on to the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club, where they held multiple roles including Controller, VP of Finance, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, and eventually became the Chief Operating Officer. At the True North Sports + Entertainment company, they served as the Vice President of People and Patron Services, overseeing the successful amalgamation of a professional hockey organization and a publicly owned facility. Currently, they are working at Think Shift as the CEO, where they collaborate with the executive team to lead and manage business operations and cultural alignment. It is worth noting that they have also held the positions of COO and VP at Think Shift.

Robert Thorsten earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of Winnipeg, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1998, they became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) through the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). In 2012, they obtained the title of Fellow Certified Management Accountant (FCMA) from CIMA. Lastly, in 2015, they achieved the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, FCPA) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
