Matt Willis

Matt Willis has a long and varied work experience. Matt began their career in 2006 as a Lecturer in Design and Multimedia at the University of Newcastle. In 2008, they moved to the University of the Sunshine Coast, where they held the roles of Post Doctoral Researcher, PhD Student in Human Computer Interaction, and Researcher. In 2012, they joined Bilue as UX Research Lead, Project Manager & Developer. In 2013, they moved to Alive Mobile Group, where they held the roles of National Manager - Product Design and Mobile Business Designer. In 2014, they joined ustwo as Head of Product and Lead Product Designer (UX and Research). In 2017, they moved to SoftBank Robotics America, where they held the roles of Head of Product, Design and Engineering, Head of Product Design, Design and HRI Strategy Lead, and Lead UX Designer. In 2021, they joined Third Wave Automation as Head of Product.

Matt Willis began their educational journey in 2002 when they enrolled in the University of Newcastle to pursue a Bachelor of Information Science. Matt completed this degree in 2005 and then returned to the University of Newcastle to pursue a Bachelor of Information Science (Hons) which they completed in 2006. In 2008, they enrolled in the University of the Sunshine Coast to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and HCI which they completed in 2011.
