Johnny Hwin has a wealth of experience in the tech and creative industries. In 2020, they became a Partner at Studio Management LLC, a data-driven asset manager investing across public equities and venture capital. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Co-founder and Advisor of Thistle, a company which aims to make eating nutritious, plant-based foods incredibly convenient and accessible. From 2012 to 2014, they were an Advisor and Investor at Lever, a company backed by Y Combinator, Marissa Mayer, SV Angels, et al. that builds applicant tracking software for modern hiring. Additionally, they were a Songwriter and Producer at Cathedrals from 2012 to 2013, an Advisor at Patreon from 2014 to 2020, a Co-founder, Community Organizer and Gallerist at The SUB from 2009 to 2012, a Consultant and Advisor at PLAiR Media Inc from 2012 to 2014 (which was later acquired by Samsung), a Consultant on PTCH at DreamWorks Animation from 2012 to 2013 (which was later acquired by Yahoo), a Co-founder and CEO at damntheradio from 2009 to 2012 (which was later acquired by FanBridge), and a Consultant at Asana from 2011 to 2012.

Johnny Hwin attended Stanford University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a BA in Psychology with a focus on Social Psychology. In 2006, they also attended ISEP - école d'ingénieurs du numérique. From 2007 to 2008, they returned to Stanford University to earn a MS in Management Science & Engineering with a focus on Technology, User-Experience Design, and Entrepreneurship.
