Kyusik Chung

Kyusik Chung has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2000 as an Associate, Technology at Sapient. In 2002, they became a Lead Program Manager at Expedia, Inc, where they designed an API between Expedia's booking engine and hotels' reservations systems. In 2005, they worked as a Product Manager at Zillow, Inc, where they designed a real estate valuation engine. In 2007, they co-founded Discovereads, a personalized book discovery site, which they sold to Goodreads in 2011. Kyusik then worked at Goodreads.com in various roles, including VP Consumer & Author Revenue, VP Operations & Business Development, and Director. In 2017, they became VP Author Services at Amazon, where they set a mission to help authors tell their stories well, reach a wide audience, and earn a living at their craft. In 2018, they became General Manager at Strava, where they set a mission and long-term product vision to deliver customer-focused innovations. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Thistle as COO & CPO, where they directly oversee product, engineering, design, data science, and finance.

Kyusik Chung attended NYU Stern School of Business from 2006 to 2008, earning an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance. Prior to that, they attended Yale University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science.
