Christine Gaurkee

Christine Gaurkee has extensive experience in education and program coordination, currently serving as a Religion Teacher at Berkeley Preparatory School since August 2003, where curriculum development for grades 6-12 focuses on Western and Eastern Religions, Ethics, and the relationship between religion and popular culture. In addition, Christine is involved in the Berkeley Speaker Series and co-directs the Berkeley Institute for Journalism/Communications, while also being an author of "All You Want to Know But Didn't Think You Could Ask: Religions, Cults, and Popular Beliefs." Previous roles include serving as Spain Country Coordinator for Abbey Roads Programs from May 2004 to August 2009, where management of program logistics and staff training was key, and as a researcher at Emory University from August 2000 to May 2002, contributing to ecumenical studies. Christine holds a Master's degree in Theology from Emory University, a Bachelor's degree in Religion/Religious Studies from Florida Southern College, and is pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling and School Psychology at UMass Boston.
