Lorena Almaraz

Lorena Almaraz is an experienced professional in AI and data governance. Currently serving as an AI Policy Research Group Member at the Center for AI and Digital Policy since January 2024, Lorena also holds the position of Senior AI/ML Model Steward Partner at Thomson Reuters since September 2022, focusing on data and model governance. Prior roles include Solutions Researcher and Programs Assistant at the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, Evaluation & Research Associate at Lumiere Consulting, and Data Science Intern at the Investigative Journalism Foundation. Educationally, Lorena holds a Master of Information in Human-Centred Data Science from the University of Toronto and has additional fellowships and degrees in Fine Arts and Cognitive Science from Massey College and the University of Waterloo, respectively.
