Chris Allan

Chris has worked as a specialist corporate lawyer since 2000 and splits his time between our Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh offices. He is an experienced corporate finance lawyer who has acted in a large number of corporate and asset acquisitions and disposals, and has an intimate understanding of the issues which may arise in a company sale.

In addition to acting in acquisitions and disposals, Chris also advises clients in relation to bank finance as well as equity investment in companies, share options, the application of the Financial Services & Markets Act, and other matters which are of relevance to companies seeking investment.

Chris has considerable experience in corporate restructuring, both solvent restructuring (including mergers and demergers) and insolvent restructuring, and regularly acts for both administrators and those buying businesses from administration.

Chris is very active in the social housing sector, frequently advising housing associations on finance issues and corporate governance. He is a voluntary board member of Link Group, one of Scotland’s largest housing associations. He is also a voluntary board director at Live Active, the charitable company which operates sports and leisure facilities throughout Perthshire and Kinross.

Originally qualified as a solicitor in Scotland, Chris is also now qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, and also holds the Securities and Investments Institute’s Certificate in Corporate Finance.
