Richard Newman

Richard Newman is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in software development and engineering leadership across various industries. Currently serving as Director of Software Development at thoughtbot since September 2022, Richard previously held significant roles including Director of Software Engineering at PetIQ where oversight of SOX compliance and departmental transformation took place, and Director of Operations Engineering at Tuft & Needle where automated order exchange integration was directed. Richard also founded and served as CEO of Rezzly, a gamified education platform, and has held key positions such as CTO at GoGo Labs, Inc. and H&W Computer Systems, and Chief Academic Officer at Bloc, Inc. Richard's educational background includes an MBA from the UW Foster School of Business and a BS in Computer Science from Boise State University.
