Lead Instructor/program Coach Consultant at ThriveDX

Chris DiStasio has a diverse work experience starting from 2010 as a Lecturer (ESL) at Ohio University, where they developed effective ways to connect non-native ELLs with the campus and surrounding community. Chris also coordinated the OPIE Creative Arts Club and taught core classes to university students. In 2017, they worked as a Freelance Web Developer at Dreamsourcer Enterprises, developing websites and web apps for various commercial and nonprofit clients. From 2020 to 2022, they gained technical skills as an Associate Software Engineer at Revature and later worked as a Copy Supervisor/Lead Content Writer at AmaZix. Currently, they are working as a Lead Instructor at ThriveDX and will continue this role at San Diego State University in 2023. Chris also held the position of Lead Instructor at the NORCS Software Development Bootcamp at North Carolina State University from 2022 to 2023. Overall, Chris has a strong background in education, software engineering, web development, and instructional roles.

Chris DiStasio has a Certificate of Completion in Software Engineering and Full-stack Web Development from the Flatiron School. They also hold a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Central Missouri, as well as a BA in English with Honors from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Title IX: Preventing Sexual Misconduct for Faculty and Staff with Reporting Obligations, Unconscious Bias, Diversity, Inclusion, & Sensitivity, and Preventing Discrimination & Harassment: US Employees from Traliant in 2022.
