Rebecca Tipton has over 20 years of experience in the actuarial field. Rebecca began their career as an Individual Medical Actuarial Intern at Fortis Insurance Company in 1997. From there, they worked their way up to the role of Actuarial Assistant, where they developed new LTC continuance tables and calculated and maintained LTC claim and contract reserves. Rebecca also played a key role in improving underwriting standards by coordinating efforts with outside vendors and temporary employees to ensure data quality and integrity.
In 2000, Rebecca joined Allianz as a Senior Actuarial Assistant. During their time there, they completed LTC experience studies, developed monthly LTC trend reports, and used SAS to create monthly LTC data extracts and validate data feeds. Rebecca then transitioned to the role of Assistant Actuary, where they performed and managed modeling capabilities for Life and LTC Insurance and was responsible for the operational plan for Life and LTC lines of business.
Rebecca's most recent role was as Director, Actuary at Thrivent. In this position, they developed a stand-alone Long-Term Care Insurance product and successfully re-entered the LTC marketplace, meeting planned sales targets. Rebecca also worked with a Third Party Administrator to implement the new product and expand its functionality. Additionally, Rebecca identified the need for product changes and made recommendations, including gender-specific premium rates and updated product features.
Rebecca Tipton received their Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they attended from 1994 to 1998.
