Effy Castaneda

Effy Castaneda is an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist and Industrial Hygienist currently working at Tidewater Inc. since February 2023 as a full-time contractor for the NOAA National Weather Service Environment, Health, and Safety. Prior experience includes roles at INFARM, where a mass layoff occurred, and R. T. Vanderbilt Co., where Effy focused on compliance with safety regulations and developed proactive safety programs. Additional positions include Scientist I at EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., and Environmental Scientist at KCI Technologies, Inc., both of which ended due to pandemic-related layoffs. Effy holds a Master of Science in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene and a Certificate in Risk Sciences and Public Policy from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, along with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from UC San Diego.
