Yevgeniy Firsov

Yevgeniy Firsov has an extensive work experience spanning over 14 years. Yevgeniy is currently the Co-Founder & Chief Architect of Tigris Data Inc since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Uber for 5 years as a Senior Software Engineer II, where they played a key role in designing and implementing Uber's in house MySQL and Schemaless change data capture solution, called Storagetapper. Storagetapper is used in production at Uber for producing snapshot and real-time changed data, as well as for backing up hundreds of terrabytes of Schemaless data. Before Uber, Yevgeniy worked at SanDisk® for 4 years as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they focused on the design and implementation of ZetaScale, a flash optimized key-value storage engine and SDK. Additionally, they conducted performance research and optimization for the company. Prior to that, they worked at Schooner Information Technology as a Senior Software Engineer for 1.5 years, and at Percona as a Senior Software Engineer for 3 years. At Percona, they contributed to improving MySQL for high performance hardware by implementing new caching, locking, flushing subsystems, and adding instant schema change functionality.

Yevgeniy Firsov pursued their education from 1996 to 2001 at Altai State Technical University. During this time, they obtained a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics.
