Scientist Innovator at TNO

Coen van Aken is an accomplished Scientist Innovator at TNO - Sustainable Technologies for Industrial Processes since November 2022, focusing on low-temperature water electrolysis (PEMWE). Coen has steadily advanced through roles within TNO since August 2021, initially serving as a Junior Scientist Innovator. Prior experience includes an Engineering role in R&D at Nedstack PEM fuel cells from July 2015 to July 2021, and a Process Engineer position at Procede Group BV from April 2008 to July 2015. Coen began a career in academia as a Student Research Assistant at the University of Twente, following an internship focused on carbon dioxide capture. The educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, complemented by vocational training in chemical laboratory techniques.
