Han Zhou

Han Zhou is a Scientific Specialist at Smart Urban Mobility and Safety, TNO, since November 2006, focusing on assessing the impact of urban planning through advanced traffic models and spatial data. Previous roles include Software Engineer/GIS Researcher, where work involved parallel computing on GPUs for real-time urban environment calculations, energy network model development for urban energy neutrality, and web application development for CO2 emissions analysis. As a PhD Researcher at UvA, Han Zhou specialized in activity-based travel demand modeling, developing multimodal mode chain models with GPU acceleration. Education includes a Master's degree in Geo-information Science from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University. Early career experience includes an internship at TNO, focusing on software development within the ArcGIS platform.
