Jan van Egmond

Jan van Egmond has extensive work experience in project management and portfolio management. Jan is currently working as a Project Portfolio Manager at Delft University of Technology, starting in April 2023. Before that, they served as a Senior Consultant in Project Portfolio Management at Cratos Consulting BV since October 2022. In addition, Jan has experience as a Project Portfolio Manager at BIJ12 from November 2022 to March 2023.

Jan also has entrepreneurial experience, as they are the founder of Empower Your Projects since December 2016. In this role, they developed expertise in agile, classic project management, and hybrid methodologies, helping organizations to improve their team efficiency. Prior to their entrepreneurial journey, Jan conducted research into structural problems in multi-project organizations as an independent researcher at Jan van Egmond.

Jan has gained further professional experience through various roles, including serving as a Board Member/Area Governor/Club founder at Toastmasters International - District 59 since July 2007, and as a Project Manager at Sogeti Nederland from 2008 to 2013. Jan also served as a Project Manager at Alcatel-Lucent from 2006 to 2008 and worked as a Senior Consultant at A-dato Scheduling Technology from September 2016 to March 2018. Jan is an expert in project management and is dedicated to improving organizational efficiency and solving structural problems in multi-project organizations.

Jan van Egmond has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Technical Computer Science) from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, which was obtained from 1984 to 1988. Jan also has a Bachelor's degree in Telematics from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht), obtained from 1990 to 1991. In terms of project management, they received training from Prince2 in 2006, earning a Practitioner degree. Jan also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (US based) in 2005. Additionally, they completed a sales training program at Appalti.
