Dr. Lupita Hightower

Dr. Lupita Ley Hightower serves as the Superintendent of Tolleson Elementary School District #17 since July 2008, where a dedicated team is engaged in enhancing student progress. Previously, Dr. Hightower held roles including Director of Instructional Support, Curriculum Director, and Assistant Superintendent at Sunset Vista in Glendale Elementary School District from July 2005 to June 2008, and Principal. Earlier experience includes positions as a Teacher, ELL Coach, and Assistant Principal at Washington Elementary School District, as well as a Teacher at Tucson Unified School District. Academic credentials comprise a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership and Innovation with an emphasis on policy administration from Arizona State University (2006-2009), a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University (2000-2002), and a Bachelor's degree in Education with a Bilingual Endorsement from the University of Arizona (1994-1997).
