Sergeant First Class (SFC) Kahler MacPhail served 13 years on active duty with the United States Army Special Operations community, including six years in the 75th Ranger Regiment and seven years in the Combat Applications Group (CAG).
During his Army career, SFC MacPhail conducted 11 combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and several other missions worldwide. His combat commendations include two Bronze Stars, two Joint Commendation Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with valor), seven Army Achievement Medals, and numerous other joint and individual awards.
After leaving the military, Mr. MacPhail worked as the senior training advisor for a Florida Sheriff’s Department, sharing the knowledge he gained over his military career. In this role, he worked as the primary firearms instructor, mentored and coached multiple SWAT teams, assisted in the stand up of a regional SWAT school, and developed numerous other advanced tactical courses. In 2019, Mr. MacPhail joined the Tomahawk team as Vice President. His primary goal is to give back the lessons he learned overseas to the men and women who serve to protect their people and our communities in the public and private sectors. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
