Salome Takau began their work experience in 2012 as a Data Analyst for the Ministry of Education. In 2014, they joined Digicel Group as a Customer Service Agent, where they worked until 2016. During this time, they also worked as a Cashier for Tonga Development Bank for a brief period. In 2016, they became a Personal Assistant to the Deputy CEO at Tonga Communications Corporation. Most recently, Salome worked as an Administrator for Poimaino Homebase starting in 2017.

Salome Takau has a Diploma in IT from Tupou Tertiary Institute, which they obtained from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended Queen Salote College from 2006 to 2012, where they focused on Information Technology.
