Joao Oliveira

Joao Oliveira has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry. Joao began their career in 1997 as a Lead Software Engineer and Database Administrator at the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança. In this role, they were responsible for e-services, portals, and large academic databases. Joao also collaborated with the Financial Division to integrate e-services with third-party financial backoffice software. In 2005, Joao became the CTO and Software and Database Architect at Neoface, where they grew the start-up company from concept to product launch. Joao managed multiple teams while mentoring young engineers and focusing them on product and business goals. In 2016, Joao took on a Team Lead and Senior Performance Engineer role at WeDo Technologies, where they managed the Benchmarks stream on Fraud and Revenue Assurance software. Joao also analyzed metrics to determine areas of improvement in the tests processes, policies, and procedures. Later in 2016, Joao moved to BOLD by Devoteam as a Team Lead and Senior Performance Engineer. Finally, in 2020, they became the CTO at Tonic App.

Joao Oliveira completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science at the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança from 1993 to 1996. Joao then went on to earn a Master's degree in Management Computer Science from the Universidade do Minho from 1997 to 2001. In addition, Joao Oliveira has obtained several certifications, including Lean Leadership, Lean Culture & Lean Management from Udemy in December 2019, Blockchain Advanced Level: Uses Beyond Bitcoin from Udemy in August 2019, gRPC [Golang] Master Class: Build Modern API & Microservices from Udemy in August 2019, Redis Labs | RU201: RediSearch from Redis Labs in July 2019, and Redis Labs | RU202: Redis Streams from Redis Labs in May 2019.
