Diana Friend

Diana Friend has a strong background in communications and marketing. Diana worked as the Communications & Marketing Director at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, where they were responsible for overseeing the internal and external communications processes and strategies. Diana also served as a spokesperson for public information and directed the creative design and editorial work of print materials. In addition, Diana was a member of the Creative Group team, working on the library's digital marketing and social media needs. Prior to that, they held the role of Communications & Marketing Manager at the same library.

Before their time at the library, Diana worked at the Kansas Department of Commerce as a Business Development Representative. Their responsibilities included strategic consulting, advising new businesses on formation and regulations, and editing a guide to starting a business in Kansas. Diana held this position from 1997 to 1999.

Diana's career in communications began at the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where they served as the Director of Communications from 1990 to 1997.

Diana Friend obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Journalism from Kansas State University during the period of 1976 to 1979.
