Nate Walkingshaw has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Nate is currently the CEO and founder of Torus, a modern energy storage business that offers a range of energy storage devices and solutions to consumers. Prior to Torus, they founded and was a board member of Brightface, a startup that focused on investment and board memberships. Nate has also worked as a tree farmer at SaltPyne and served on the advisory board of ICONIQ Capital.
One of Nate's notable professional accomplishments was their tenure at Pluralsight, where they served as the Chief Experience Officer and later as the Chief Product Officer. At Pluralsight, they were responsible for designing and engineering global products, grew the team from 8 to 800, and took the company public with over 600 million in ARR.
Nate's earlier experience includes working as a board advisor at Strava Inc., where they designed and engineered a subscription algorithm for the company, and leading new product development at Stryker Medical's Emergency Medical Division after they acquired Paramed Systems, a company Nate founded and served as the CEO.
Prior to their career in tech and engineering, Nate worked as an EMT-I at Gold Cross Ambulance Services.
Nate Walkingshaw attended Waterford School from 1989 to 1996 where they studied General Studies. Following this, they went to Westminster College from 1996 to 1998, where they focused on International Business. In December 1998, Nate Walkingshaw obtained their EMT-I certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
